In the first movement of the concerto, the two ballerinas may be understood to incarnate the violins while a corps de ballet of eight girls accompany them. In the second movement, the largo, the male dancer joins the leading female in a duet. In the final allegro, the bright rhythms of the score inspire no less bright dancing in which Balanchine’s classicism reflects exactly the syncopations and rhythmic vitality of the music.
It is all about finding our way to inner beauty.
It is speaking about the inner human beauty but also conflict of the soul and heart.
Discovering inner world of human being.
Discovering the inner world of human emotions.
Discovering the inner world of human confusions.
Discovering the world of human creatures.
Ballet created in Vevey (Switzerland) on April 7th 2002.
The dancer, Etoile of the Paris Opera, unleashes his style and mastery of classical dance vocabulary, performing a snappy parody to Donizetti's dynamic ballet scores.
José Martinez has fun in doing a little pastiche of a slew of famous choreographers of the past and the present.
Mr. Martinez has used his intelligence and imagination to produce something uniquely his own.Mi Favorita is a classical work which is very inventive, from the dancer who tries to swap his partner for a better one, to the boy who grabs a girl whose tutu, in transparent plastic, comes off in his hand. Each movement of the work has something new to say. It’s full of real humour and most refreshing.
