Oktay KERESTECİ
 
1959 yılında İstanbul’da doğan Keresteci, 1979 yılında Ankara Devlet Konservatuarı Bale Bölümü’nden üstün başarı ile mezun olmuştur. Aynı yıl İstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesi kadrosuna girmiş ve o zamandan bugüne kadar İstanbul Devlet Balesi'ndeki tüm bale eserlerinin başrollerini üstlenmiştir.
 
Turkuaz modern dans topluluğunda çalıştırıcılık yapan Keresteci, sonrasında topluluğun sanat yönetmeni yardımcısı olmuştur. Bir dönem İstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesi'nde "bale başöğretmenliği" görevinde bulunan Keresteci, 1979’dan itibaren yurtiçi ve yurtdışı turnelerine katılmaktadır.
 
İstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesinin vermiş olduğu burs ile Hollanda, Almanya ve İngiltere’de çalıştırıcılık ve öğretmenlik üzerine çalışmalarda bulunan Keresteci, Don Kişot Balesi'ndeki "Basil" rolündeki performansı ile Rusya'ya davet edilmiştir. Amerika’daki Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Sergisi çerçevesinde sahnelenen Hürrem Sultan Balesi'ndeki "Kanuni" rolüyle büyük başarılar kazanan Keresteci, halen İstanbul Devlet Balesi bale öğretmenliği ve Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Modern Dans Bölümü’nde klasik bale hocalığı yapmakta ayrıca son 8 yıldır da Anadolu Ateşi baş dansçılığı ve klasik bale öğretmenliği yapmaktadır.
 
Oktay Keresteci Anadolu Ateşi ile Türkiye’nin birçok şehrinde ve Avrupa ve Asya’nın birçok devletine yapılan turnelerde de halen dans etmektedir.

Born in 1959, Istanbul, Keresteci graduated from State Conservatory of Ankara as honors man. The same year he started working as state artist of State Opera & Ballet of Istanbul. He has been the leading man in every piece that The State Ballet has put on stage.
 
Keresteci has been one of the tutors of Turkuaz Modern Dance Company, and shortly after became the company’s assistant of artistic director. For a certain period Keresteci was the principal tutor of State Opera & Ballet of Istanbul. He has been touring throughout Turkey and the world since 1979.
 
With the scholarship given by State Opera & Ballet of Istanbul, he went to Holland, Germany, and England. With his performance as “Basil” in Don Quixote, he was invited to Russia. As part of the “Suleyman the Magnificent Exhibition” in the US, he played the role “Suleyman” in the ballet “Hurrem Sultan” scoring a success.
 
He is still teaching classical ballet at The State Ballet and Yıldız Technical University Modern Dance Division. He has also been dancing (as the leading dancer) and teaching at “Anatolian Fire” for eight years.
 
Oktay Keresteci is still touring with “Anatolian Fire” throughout Turkey and the world.
